Well, it has been a hot minute since I blogged! May, I think was my last post - and then I launched into Transition Term with non-stop Year 6 lessons and wellbeing classes, which left me pooped! Don't get me wrong, I love doing the work, but Term 6 is always tiring for me. I think then with the addition of moving from constantly working from home to constantly being on the go, and with looking to move house, my body and brain just said no. Sometimes you just have to listen to it.
June however, was my month of patience, so maybe we could just say I joined you in with my exploration and you patiently allowed me to get back on the blogging track.
One thing I finally got back to is being in the theatre! How much I have missed this! We have waited over a year to see SIX (even longer if you count my desire pre-booking to see it) and finally, the day arrived and it was amazing! Absolute Queens!! The Arden Theatre also opened in Faversham with the hilarious Farndale Murder Mystery, I haven't laughed like that in so long. It was definitely the required medicine for coming out of lockdown.
I also recorded my second podcast, this time with Steve Dunn. I have known Steve and his family for many years now and it was great to talk to him about his passions. Steve lives in Herne Bay and is passionate about creative writing, movies, and in particular Mad Max: Fury Road. It was great to hear his take on watching horror movies (although perhaps I'm a bit too sensitive to go alone). I loved hearing him speak about what inspires his storywriting especially as he reminisced about Ho Chi Minh City Breakfasts & LA living. He reminded me of my love for the power of storytelling.
Steve recommends @Mackaris & @bayleafcoffeehouse in Herne Bay for your coffee and so last Sunday I popped over to get some photos. Bayleaf was populated with families so photos felt a bit intrusive but many people were enjoying the terrace at Mackaris so I managed to get a few photos of the inside. I definitely need to go back for the ice cream!
If you are in Herne Bay do give these cafe's a visit.
I also walked over to one of my favorite haunts to get pictures (although it is not open on a Sunday. This is 49 Mortimer Street.
If you enjoyed the episode, do let me know! You can also find Steve at stevedunnauthor.uk, www.twitter.com/SteveDunnAuthor or @stevie._.dunn on Instagram!
